When will my credit card be charged?
Your credit card will be charged as soon as your order is accepted and processed.
What forms of payment do you accept?
We currently use Shopify payments and can process most major credit cards. We also accept Paypal. We do not accept cash or checks.
When will you ship my order?
We are as excited to ship your order as you are to receive it! Most orders will be processed within 5 business days (Monday-Friday). We ask for a little extra grace around higher volume times, such as sales and holidays. We offer first class and priority mail shipping via USPS and UPS ground shipping. We also will ship to Canada with USPS International First Class or Priority mail. In general, either domestic first class or domestic priority mail service will deliver your package in 2-4 business days, depending on where you live.
Shipping times are estimates and cannot be guaranteed. Global Fiber is not responsible for delayed packages or lost/damaged items once they are mailed.
While we try to ship your package right away, please note that due to covid-19 and high volume, all carriers continue to experience delays. Thank you in advance for your patience!
How do you calculate shipping?
Domestic orders over $100 qualify for free shipping. All domestic orders weighing up to 1lb will ship with $5 flat rate shipping. Orders weighing more then 1lb ship with $8.5 flat rate shipping. International shipping (currently to Canada only) is calculated at checkout. Shipping prices are subject to change.
Do you offer international shipping?
At this time, we only offer international shipping to Canada. International shipments may be subject to duties/tariffs. Global Fiber is not responsible for these fees and/or potential delays in customs.
How does local delivery work?
Global Fiber is currently testing a local delivery option. Local delivery is offered within approximately a 10 mile radius of our studio in Marshfield, MA. This is calculated at checkout based on delivery address. Minimum order to qualify for delivery is $50. Deliveries are currently free of charge as we test this service option, but subject to change in the future.
Do you allow returns or exchanges?
Bugger! We are disappointed that you are anything less than IN LOVE your purchase. For the most part, we do not accept returns or exchanges. If there was an issue and it was our mistake or there are flaws in the product please let us know right away. We will do everything we can to make it right. Please send us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org within 14 days of purchase and we'll get back to you about the return process.
How can I update my order?
We work fast! It is something we are really proud of over here. If you want to update or combine your order, please send us an email right away at email@example.com! If your order has not already been prepared for shipping then we will do our best to honor your updated request.
An item I wanted is out of stock. Will you restock? Do you accept backorders?
Restocks are based on demand and manufacturer availability. Email us at firstname.lastname@example.org right away if an item you want is sold out and we’ll do the best we can to source this item for you.
Do you offer samples?
Most of our fabric is available in fat quarter or 1/4 yard increments. Purchasing a small quantity is a great way to sample the fabric before ordering a larger size.
What is a Fat Quarter?
A fat quarter is ¼ of a yard of fabric, usually measuring 18”(width) x 21/22”(length). It is created by cutting a half yard of fabric and then cutting along the fold of the fabric. The length measurement is 1/2 the measurement of the width of the fabric. For example, wider fabrics (often linen and denim) will yield longer "fat quarters."
Do you cut continuous yardage?
All our fabric is cut in continuous yardage, including individual fabric selections and Global Fiber curated bundles unless other noted. If there is an issue with us cutting your order in a continuous piece, we will notify you prior to shipping. Manufacturer curated bundles are “precuts” and sold as listed.
Most of our products are sold in 1/4 yard increments or fat quarter increments. To order a piece larger than ¼ yard, you need to order multiple quantities. For example:
- Quantity 1 = ¼ yard
- Quantity 2 = ½ yard
- Quantity 3 = ¾ yard
- Quantity 4 = 1 yard
How can I be sure the colors are accurate?
We certainly do our very best! When possible, we use manufacturer photos in addition to our own photography. We prefer to take photos in natural light and may color correct slightly to get the truest color representation. Screens will still have slight differences in their color calibrations. If you have any questions about a specific product, just ask! We are happy to work with you before you place your order so you feel confident you will love your fabric when it arrives. This being said, Global Fiber cannot accept returns for items once they are cut, including if you are unhappy with the color. If you are trying to color match something specific, all fabric is sold is 1/4 yard and fat quarter sizes. We think this is a great size to order as a color sample.
Do you have a newsletter/blog?
We certainly do! You can sign up to have both delivered to your email. We value your time and attention and promise not to take either for granted. We promise we won’t spam you, sell your contact information or flood your inbox.
Will I be charged sales tax?
Only customers who reside in Massachusetts will be charged sales tax.
What are your operation hours?
In general, we package and ship orders Monday - Friday. We observe all major federal and state holidays. That being said, we know you are excited to get your order as soon as possible. We have been known to package and ship over the weekend when time permits. Both globalfibershop.com and our Etsy shop are open 24 hours a day. We respond to emails Monday - Friday, as quickly as we can!
Do you offer wholesale or terms?
We are not a wholesaler but we may be able to offer a discount on large bulk orders. This may be subject to manufacturer restrictions on new releases. The best way to determine bulk pricing is to send us an email at email@example.com.
What is your preorder policy?
Small shops like ours offer preorders on products we think are going to be in high demand. This is a service we offer our customers so they can secure access to these desirable lines. Please place your preorder as a separate order from in-stock items that are ready to be shipped. Placing a preorder means you are paying for the fabric by paying for the listing up front and agree to the following terms:
- You understand that Global Fiber does not have this fabric in stock at the time of purchase.
- Once fabric is in stock, orders will be processed immediately in the order they are received.
- Estimated stocking date is clearly stated on listing and provided by the fabric manufacturer. Occasionally, there are disruptions in the supply that may delay the shipment of products to our store as expected. This may include delayed shipments or partial shipments. Such delays are outside of our control. We will do our best to keep you up to date with these circumstances.
- Preorder sales are final and cannot be canceled, altered, traded or combined with other orders.
How do I correct a mistake in my order?
Oops! My bad! We are only human and mistakes happen. We do our very best to make sure all orders are inspected before leaving our studio. If there is an issue with your, please inspect your package upon arrival and contact us within 14-days by email at firstname.lastname@example.org if there are flaws or inaccuracies with your order.
